Play Dead!★ 9 · Jul 25, 2026 Review #2 - Play Dead by GFox and Lena Stunts in Order: Lena's Hill Ramp to Billboard Grind to Thread: 5/5 - This is the ultimate stunt you can pull off on his ramp hill with BMX, the distance to the billboard grind is nuts, and the thread at the end makes it a perfect stunt in my eyes. 360 backflips is hella steeze. GFox's Sideride to Crank to Ammo Precision: 5/5 - I don't think I've seen a single BMX stunt in this location, but it's fair to say you landed the best combo you could,ve. Really sick combo all in all. Lena's Ass Grind to Tree Thread to Garage Entry: 5/5 - Best stunt of the video. The exit out of the ass grind was too clean, basically a double thread as well with the trees and garage. Only parking garage entry stunt I'll ever enjoy. GFox's Wheelie to Fleeca Prec: 4/5 - I had this spot as well, it's a neat one. I think this is cooler than crank to precision. Lena's Triple Grind on Bridge - 2.5/5 - Weakest stunt of the bunch, wasn;t terrible, just nothing memorable. It wss clean at the very least. Dual Stunt to Pier Precision: 4.5/5 - Lowkey wish there were more dual stunts but this is a daytage so I shouldn't expect that. Unqiue landing to implement this technique on. Lena's Double Pole Bounce to Billboard Grind to Ledge Grind: 5/5 - This was a sick combo! I didn't think the stunt would keep going after the billboard grind, Idk, this is just a spot that most people wouldn't think of. GFox Cog to Double Crank: 3.5/5 - Cool spot, grinds are on the unclean side my friend, therefore I must deduct 1.5 points. Lena's Wigwam Thread: 3.5/5 - Neat thread but that's the only cool part of the stunt imo. GFox's Billboard Grind to Gate Thread: 5/5 - Probs my favorite GFox stunt of the video. Love the run up and location. Lena's Roof Cog to Windmill Precision: 4/5 - Sick lil spot. GFox's Thread/Cog to Thread to Grind: 5/5 - The thread/cog at the start was prestine, I also think it's impressive how you jumped back into a grind after the second thread, looks super tight. Total Score: 52/60 - 8.6/10 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Editing Review: The one word I kept thinking about when watching this again was spontaneous. Not only due to the fact that this is a Daytage, but for the fact that everything about this edit embodies "going with the flow." I find that GFox really shines when there are limitations, whether its time or challenging themself to create a new asthetic in their videos. Play Dead is no exception, and remains one of my favorite edits by GFox to this day. If I had to compare this to a video of the past, I'd say Summit by Cryptic/Vengeance Stunting. I think what both videos do so well is keeping a high energy, there's not much filler, just killer. Music makes a huge impact in this video, it's fun, captivating, and creates a perfect pace for the stunts. This montage has a very distinctive look as well, it's kind of muddied down, almost looks like some lightly corrupted found footage you'd stumble across on the random corners of the internet. Angles can be a very subjective topic, but in this case, I don't think there's anything to critique. I think every shot serves a purpose, there's no dead time, which isn't a bad thing to have, but with the highly energetic vibe of this video, I think it was a good choice to mostly showcase the stunts to maintain the pace. I find it hard to explain what I like about an edit, but I think it's mostly just feels, what leaves the biggest impact on me when walking away from a video, and I think Liam always delivers on that front. Editing Score: 5/5 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Last Thoughts and Final Score: There were so many amazing videos that came out in 2024, and it's really hard to pinpoint a favorite, but if I had to choose one, I think it would be Play Dead. It's a super fun and memorable watch. Daytages of the past, and lowkey some modern BMX videos have nothing on this. Lena personally had my favorite stunts overall, I just wouldn't have thought of any of those spots. GFox killed the edit as they always does. Amazing duo, amazing edit, amazing video. I'm feeling a 9/10!👍 2 · 👎 0 · 💬 0
Epitaph★ 8 · Jul 25, 2026 Review #1 - Epitaph by Aqua and PR3V1OUS Part 1 Stunts: Opener Crank 4x: 4.5/5 - Extremely clean stunt, some better BMX clips later in the video though. Bump to Double Thread to Tree Precision: 5/5 - Best stunt of Part 1, still amazes me to this day. Insanely good combo! Bump to Triple Grind (Town Hall): 4.5/5 - Unique area to do a grind combo in, really like how it just keeps going after the staircase boost. Bump to Grind to Peg to Grind: 4.5/5 - Another cool location, that peg in between the two grinds is nuts. Roof Bumps to Parking Garage Double Grind: 4/5 - Neat little spot Moto Freestyle #1: 4/5 - The reverse technique and the trash bin precision made this stunt, grinds a little unclean but I like how this screams BMX in moto form. 5x Bump to Precision: 3/5 - This stunt doesn't do a whole ton for me besides the precision that you landed, and even then, you didn't land top :( I think some of the bumps on the huge silos were visually cool. Vinewood BMX Combo: 4/5 - Iconic location of course, fairly clean combo as well. Part 2 Stunts: BMX Thread/Cog: 5/5 - Very intricate spot and I love it, one of my favorite stunts of the video for sure. BMX Double Peg: 4/5 - This was cool. Triple Thread to Trash Bin: 5/5 - Amazing find and concept, one of my favorite stunts of all time. (I hope to make an official list someday) Curved Grind to Billboard Grind: 5/5 - Following up with an even cooler stunt imo. It's got all the big C's: Creative, Clean, and a CLASSIC. Haku Peg to Slide to Grind: 5/5 - Oh baby a triple! Genuinely insane 3 stunt run in Part 2. No one ever shows this spot of the map love and I don't understand why. Hakuchou underrated. Moto 4x Grind: 2.5/5 - My least favorite clip of the video, this just feels like filler, nothing killer. Thread to Bump to Grind (Paleto Bay): 5/5 - Maybe the last clip being my least favorite was a plus because this is definitely in my top 20 stunts of all time and my personal favorite of the video. Yes, it is only like 6 seconds long but it packs a punch. Very PestyPig esque. Thrust Grind to Bump to Peg (Paleto Bay): 5/5 - And this very Shadow eque, reminds me of that one stunt in Born Ready 2, but this is way better. the pole bump in between is perfect. Double Sign Bump to Thread to Double Grind (Vespucci Beach): 5/5- Another insane find and the best stunt hit on that beach period, I don't know if anyone has or will come close. Moto Freestyle #2: 2.5/5 - I see the vision, unclean execution kinda ruins it though. Wallride to Bump to Double Grind: 4/5 - Sick spot, just not as interesting to me as other technicals in the video. Cemetery Thrust Combo: 4.5/5 - I really love the concept of this spot, only little downside that keeps this from being perfect is all the driving, and I know that's out of your control but it just be like that for me. Finisher Mount Dam Triple Crank: 4/5 - Solid way to end it, definitely feels big, just not as cool as other BMX clips in the vid. Total Score (Stunts): 89.5/105 - 8.5/10 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Editing Review: I don't want to repeat myself in future reviews so I will say this once here; I am not an editor and some times I have no clue what I'm talking about. I have personal preferences on what I believe constitutes a good visual experience for stunt montages, but I always try to keep on open-mind going into every video stunts and edits wise. I might not always have the popular opinion, but that's what makes these kinds of sites fun, getting to see what others think about certain videos and sharing my thoughts on them as well. With that out of the way here is what I think about PR3V1OUS's edit on Epitaph. The intro is short and sweet, it does very well at setting tone of the video and doesn't overstay its welcome. Really like the angle and effects on the wall during the first stunt. This is where it might get a little controversial, I'm not a huge fan of the rest of the angles after the first clip. Some angles are either too stagnant, or if it's a longer combo stunt, it can feel like angles are just jumbled together with no rhyme or reason. By no means are they the worst angles I've ever seen, they're just uninteresting. That's just how I feel about that portion of the edit and what I think brings it down the most. Going back to some positives, I dig the black and white in the first part, I wouldn't have even minded if it went on for the whole video. I enjoyed all the little cinematics with Aqua's character throughout. A little sequence of the edit I enjoyed was right after that second moto freestyle stunt, creating littles pockets to breathe for some cinematics is always a pleasure to me. Overall, I think this was a good edit, nothing crazy or super creative though. Editing Score: 3.5/5 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Last Thoughts and Final Score: Stunt wise, this is one of, if not the best releases of 2024 in the V community. Aqua's ability to bridge his BMX knowledge into mainly a moto-heavy video is what's most impressive to me. You have a very good eye for these short technical moto spots, which are my personal favorite type of stunts. PR3V1OUS, while it wasn't my favorite edit ever due to the angles, you still did a solid job in maintaining the somber atmosphere and overall pace of the video. Definitely will be looked as a classic in my books. I'm feeling a 8/10!👍 2 · 👎 0 · 💬 2
